Volker Beissenhirtz
Volker has been with Schultze & Braun since 2005. He established the Berlin office of Schultze & Braun and was one of the drivers to establish the London office. Before joining Schultze & Braun he worked with leading international law firms and for a recognized German Insolvency Practitioner. After a longer stint into general corporate, corporate restructuring and M&A law, Volker now devotes most of his work to the recovery of businesses ranging from small local firms to multi-national groups of companies. In his work he has a hands-on approach to recovery and often does not only cover the legal aspects of the case but also coaches the management and co-ordinates the different aspects of a business rescue.
Recent mandates include:
• Advising the management of a multinational group in the restructuring of a LBO finance structure
• Advising a major German bank during the restructuring of a syndicated credit facility in England, where, among others, a scheme of arrangement was implemented
• Advising an upper public administrative body of a German state in the planning and creation of an insolvency department
• Advising the shareholder and management of a large German fashion retail chain in the planning and implementation of its restructuring through an insolvency plan procedure including debtor-in-possession
